The Shirley Historical Society Museum is Open most Mondays and Saturdays
10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for visitors, researchers, and volunteers.
Also open many Thursday mornings and other times by appointment or by chance.

Saturday, April 11th 1:00 – 5:00 pm Historic House Tours
Visit ten historic Shirley houses. Tickets cost $25 if bought in advance and $30 if bought on the day of the tour. mail@shirleyhistory.org

Saturday, May 2nd 9:00 am – 2:00 pm  Town Wide Spring Yard Sale
 
Saturday May 16th  7:00 pm Hazel MacKaye, Shirley’s nationally known suffragette. This Historical Society program is one of
Freedom’s Way Hidden Treasures. It will trace the history of the suffrage movement and will tell the part played by Shirley's own Hazel MacKaye. mail@shirleyhistory.org

Saturday, June 6th starting at 9:00 am     En Plein Aire Painting Fundraiser. Painters will be invited to join us to paint out in the fresh air in Shirley Village.  That evening, 6:00-8:00 pm, there will be a reception for the artists and the paintings will be auctioned off with half the proceeds going to the Historical Society. Saturday, June 13th 11:00 am – 5:00 pm    ShirleyFest  On the Shirley Center Common. Local organizations will sell a variety of food, crafts vendors will be invited, children's activities and music will entertain. Contact mail@shirleyarts.org to participate.

Saturday, August 22nd 1:30 pm  Hazel MacKaye Program and Hike for Freedom’s Way. Participants will start at the Museum and then walk to the Cemetery, Center Town Hall, Meetinghouse, and MacKaye cottage.  mail@shirleyhistory.org
 
Sunday, September 13th       4:00 – 7:00 pm Garden Party Fundraiser at the Bull Run Restaurant featuring music, appetizers, and silent auctions. Tickets cost $35 and will be available at the Museum and Hazen Library. mail@shirleyhistory.org

Saturday, October 3rd       9:00 am - 2:00 pm 
Town Wide Autumn Yard Sale    At  the Museum, donations of books, baked goods, and flea market items are needed. We will also be selling Shirley souvenirs and chili and will need volunteers to help out.
 
Saturday, October 17th  7:00 pm at the Museum The Story of Nahum Gardner Hazard, an African-American Shirley boy who was kidnapped and sold as a slave down south. mail@shirleyhistory.org
 
Saturday, November 14th  6:00 pm Pot Luck Supper and Shirley Historical Society Annual Meeting at Trinity Chapel.  The program will feature readings from historic Shirley letter-writers. mail@shirleyhistory.org

Sunday November 29th  4:00 - 6:00 pm Town Tree Lighting at Whiteley Park with music, hot chocolate, marshmallow toasting, and Santa arriving on a fire truck. mail@shirleyarts.org
